Further information for traveling by car:
If you are traveling by car from the UK there are certain things to take into account:
- You should check your cover with your insurance company before departure and you may require a ‘Green Card’, which is available from your car insurance company at minimal cost.
- You
will require a ‘Vignette’ if you are going to use Swiss motorways. This
is valid for a year and only costs approx. CHF40 (approx £27). This can
be purchased in advance from www.swisstravelsystem.com
or from the border control or some petrol stations.
- Warning triangles and high viz yellow jackets are compulsory.
- The
apartment is located at 1800m and therefore snow chains are essential
during winter months. The Police may enforce this.
- Allow for approximately £100 (round trip) for tolls on French Motorways and £200 for fuel depending on your vehicle.
