The Valais: Valais is a beautiful and exceptionally sunny region in the south-west of Switzerland that boasts 50 mountain summits over 4000m high.  Home to the highest gravity dam in the world (the Grande Dixence), Europe’s largest navigable underground lake, the natural phenomena that is the pyramids of the Euseigne, the longest glacier in Europe (the Aletsch), the first alpine heritage region in the world (as designated by UNESCO) and of course it is the heart of Switzerland’s largest vineyard.. Sion: Sion is the capital of Valais and reputed to be the oldest town in Switzerland, it is also home to the oldest working musical organ in the world. Set amongst the majestic mountain peaks of the Alps it is steeped in history and culture. Guided tours will introduce you to the cathedrals, museums and castles of Sion and in summer visitors can appreciate the numerous musical festivals and street entertainers, as well as sample the numerous local wines and dishes.

Thyon / Les Collons:
Thyon / Les Collons is located in the French speaking part of the Swiss Alps, just 20 minutes drive from the capital of Valais, Sion. The village of Les Collons is on three terraces (1800m, 1850m, 1900m) and Thyon is situated just above at 2000m.  

Thyon / Les Collons has all the facilities of a small resort but it’s most compelling feature is that of it’s outstanding location, giving fantastic views of the Alps. 

The area is a skiers dream, having snow from November to April. It is also now part of the Four Valleys, which includes the exclusive resort of Verbier, and gives access to over 410km of pistes. There is plenty of pisted and off-piste skiing locally but visitors can ski to Verbier in 90mins if they wish.

In winter Thyon / Les Collons is a perfect location for skiing and snowboarding (on and off piste) as well as providing facilities for sledging, heli-skiing, paragliding and snow tubing.

In summer Thyon / Les Collons provides a sunny and peaceful base for mountain biking, walking, climbing, via ferrata, horse riding, golf and much more.
