Apartment:
The apartment in “Le Belvedere” is perfectly situated at the entrance to “Les Collons”,
giving a range of shops and facilities only a few steps away, so you can be without the car from the
moment you arrive! The ski bus stops outside the apartment and can take you along the terrace a few
minutes to save your feet, or up to Thyon if you need the ski school or crèche. It has breathtaking views
across the stunning Val d’Herens and Val d’Heremence valleys, including a view of the
Matterhorn.
Outside: The apartment has a large corner balcony which is perfect for
taking in the stunning views, fresh mountain air and tranquility. The apartment has sun from first thing in the
morning until the afternoon. There is a table and six chairs and a gas barbeque
Entrance: A boot and ski / board locker room is on the ground floor as you come into the lobby. There is also a cave.
Living area:
The apartment’s main living area is open plan, and incorporates a lounge area,
dining area and stylish new kitchen. Via French windows, the living area opens
out onto two balconies with impressive 180 degree views of the Val d’Herens and Val
d’Heremence valleys and across to the Matterhorn. There is a large
corner sofa, which incorporates a double sofa bed. All mod cons are
provided including a television, DVD/PS2 and IPOD speakers.
Kitchen:
The kitchen is well equipped with large fridge/freezer, electric fan oven, grill/microwave
induction hob, dishwasher, coffee maker and all the usual kitchen
appliances / utensils that you may require. There is crockery, cutlery
and glassware for at least eight guests. There is also a washer and dryer in the
laundry room in the basement.
Dining: The dining area is incorporated into the open plan living area
and seats 6-8 people.
Bedrooms:
The apartment in Le Belvedere has two bedrooms. In the master bedroom you can open your eyes and see the Matterhorn! The second
bedroom has bunk beds and another mattress beneath the bunk. There is an additional put-you-up which can be located
in the large hallway at night as it is closed off from the other sleeping areas. There is a baby cot and a second travel cot in the apartment (if you have twins!).
A double sofa bed is situated in the living area if required. Both bedrooms open out onto the sunny balcony through French windows. Duvets and pillows
are provided but guests are required to provide their own bed linen and
towels.
Parking: There is some dedicated parking for the Belvedere apartments,
but it is first come first served. Public Parking is only a short distance away if required.
Leisure: There is a sensibly sized pool in the basement which the children really enjoy, and it also has glorious views.
There is also a sauna for your tired legs.
Local facilities:
There are a range of facilities in Les Collons (1800, 1850, 1900)
including: supermarkets, bakers, restaurants, ski shops / hire shops,
newsagents, Ski School, tennis courts, riding and mini golf in Thyon in the summer. There is also a children’s playground. There are further
facilities higher up the mountain at Thyon 2000, including a public swimming pool, creche and jardin de neige as well as doctor with x-ray facilities on site.
Historic Sion is the capital of Valais and is a 20 minute drive from the chalet, where more substantial
supermarkets can be found. A new Aldi situated at the foot of the mountain is great for stocking up on basics. There are ice-skating, bowling, theatres and cinemas in Sion
